Can I put variable instead of value in filter?
I need to set security in the way that a supervisor can only allow to access the content with name of the supervisor in it. I can set the field "supervisor" as the field for the filter. But I have to "contain" a  value for it in order to make it work.  I hope I can set it in a dynamic way so that the filer can pick up the value in the "supervisor" field ( variable ) automatically. Can I put variable instead of value in the "value" field?

Thanks.

squo

You can try to put filter values via URL's params. Here is an example:

New feature "Filter from the URL"

Re: Can I put variable instead of value in filter?
I am sorry, I did not describe my question in a clear way.  Actually,  I want to link the filter value to supervisor's  login name so that the supervisor can only view  the content under his/her report unit once he/she login.

Thanks.

Re: Can I put variable instead of value in filter?
probably not because the form is filled by other staff, in which has a field "supervisor name" .  There are many supervisors in a group.  Each supervisor can only see the form with the supervisor's name on the form filled by other staff  If the supervisor's login name can be linked to the filter "supervisor name".
