Associating files

Sorry if I am disturbing with several questions. I find the module useful as I am testing it, but I see some few but important gaps that may prevent me from buying it, so I would like to alert. Or possibly the features exist and I don't know about them.

I like very much User Defined Tables because of the several datatypes it provides. You can set the field as an URL, e-mail or event attach a file. It would be great if your module could accomplish this. There is a module I have created that I would like to kill and shift to a tool like yours. There is a large amount of data there and more to come. Each record has a file associated with it. I don't see how I could add a field that accepts file associations. Is that possible?

Re: Associating files

Your questions are no bother at all. thanks for taking the time to write them.

Currently you'd need to type/paste a URL or email address into a standard text box. Our intention is to allow users to add validation scripts to fields (and create some standard validations like email, notnull, or >X). This feature is a few months away, however.

Regarding adding a file... I'm happy to tell you that today (Apr 10) we posted version 4_19 which includes two new datatypes: Image and File. Now you can create a new field using one of these types and add them to the edit/short/full templates.

The image can be viewed in an IMG SRC tag (and resized using HEIGHT or WIDTH commands) and linked to in an A HREF tag (I prefer using target=_blank to open it in a new window).

The file will be displayed as a linkable file name (which will open or download the file to your machine), or can be referred to in an A HREF tag.

Please let us know what you think.

Re: Associating files
This is a very important information. Being able to send images and files makes the application much more powerful.
